Shhhhhunday Night Acoustic Sessions

The quality of acoustic music we get on our Sunday nights is exactly the sort of stuff you see on shows like Later with Jools Holland, Sunday night acoustic sessions are a very shushed affair. We know that acoustic artists play a million times better in a silent and respectful room, so......... if your Sunday plan was to get pi$$ed and have a sing along then it's probably not for you - BUT if you like your music to actually move you - then stick around.

Monday & Tuesday - Private Hire or Live Recording Nights

The room is up for hire any Monday or Tuesday night for live recordings using the studio on the top floor which is wired directly into the mixing desk downstairs, you could hire it for parties or you could even promote your own gigs. For your recording sessions you can either have the place closed to the public - or you could put on your own gig and invite all your friends to come along and whoop whoop holler on the soundtrack. Also - if you charged them, they would pay for the recording!

Wednesday - Marzy's Jamming Night.

Every Wednesday is Jamming Night at The Marrs Bar. We have a full range of instruments set up for you to play so if you are a guitarist, bass player, keyboard player, singer or drummer you can just turn up and play. You are welcome to bring your own instrument along too if you'd prefer. There is also a DI box set up for the unexpected double bass or an acoustic guitar or whatever.
The Marrs Bar is essentially an over 18's venue but as we understand there are many very talented youngsters out there who would also enjoy and benefit from the experience of performing in front of a live crowd we have a junior membership scheme in place, junior membership costs £5 and you will need to bring a passport size photo and get a parent or guardian to fill in this form. Simply bring it along on the night (you will be allowed in on that night) and next time you come your membership card will be ready for collection from the doorman.

1st Thursday of every month it's The Comedy Zone, Some of the biggest names in comedy have been here such as Jimmy Carr, Jeff Green, Adam Bloom, Ross Noble, Alan Carr etc. The Comedy Zone is always presented to you by Adam Montgomery, BBC New Comedy Awards 2002 Semi Finalist

2nd & 3rd Thursdays are FREE bands for FREE quid, where I put on 3 bands that are just unheard of in the area but outstanding quality and each band takes a pound of your £3.00 entrance fee.

The last Thursday of the month is similar to the 2nd and 3rd Thursdays but run by a pair of Pete's known as Rhythm & Booze and admission is normally £3.00 unless they've bagged a big name band!
