...a quick word from Marzy
I'm having a big shake up with the way our new data base will be run, gonna make it more direct, more personal and just what you want to hear about from me, no spam, no messages about some amazing delicate jazz guitarist when you couldn't give a flying f**k - because all you want to listen to is Death Metal at a volume I'm not actually allowed to play it at due to Health & Safety legislation...! Or I'm not going to tell you about any of the great tribute bands if you are staunch originals fan, a total anti "Stars In Their Eyes" type.!
You see, I reckon you wouldn't mind being tipped off directly to your mobile phone about the next time people like Ed Shearan or Michael McIntyre decide to sneak into Marrs Bar and do a secret warm up gig for their next Glastonbury or Edinburgh cos the last time that happened 90% of tickets went to my mailing list subscribers, that's how it happens around here ya know... that's the way we roll mister..!
Please re-subscribe by simply sending a blank e mail to:-mailinglist-subscribe@marrsbar.co.uk

Every Wednesday is Jamming Night at The Marrs Bar. We have a full range of instruments set up for you to play so if you are a guitarist, bass player, keyboard player, singer or drummer you can just turn up and play. You are welcome to bring your own instrument along too if you'd prefer. There is also a DI box set up for the unexpected double bass or an acoustic guitar or whatever.
The Marrs Bar is essentially an over 18's venue but as we understand there are many very talented youngsters out there who would also enjoy and benefit from the experience of performing in front of a live crowd we have a junior membership scheme in place, junior membership costs £5 and you will need to bring a passport size photo and get a parent or guardian to fill in this form. Simply bring it along on the night (you will be allowed in on that night) and next time you come your membership card will be ready for collection from the doorman.

Two of Worcesters finest bands on the same bill on the same night...!!?? Amazing value for money. The Delray Rockets are a well established Rock a billy outfit featuring Garl Clarke on double Bass, and Ozzy on Gretsch 6 sting who have both been around on the rockin' scene for longer than they care to remember and Riff Raff are Worcesters very own AC/DC tribute band who are getting tighter and tighter every time they play - and they are playing a lot!!!
They work on the Bon Scott Era and keep it live loud and raw - they don't dress up, they don,t use any gimmicks - they justconcentrate on the music.
£6.00 a ticket - For tickets call Delray Rockets on 07884 490732 or Riff Raff on 07903 709551

The double Ivor Novello winning, walking enigma that is Chris Difford, one half of the inimitable and timeless Squeeze: with his sometimes bewildering kitchen sink lyrics and urban folk stories, Difford has brought us characters and sketches from every day life, turning that mundane into the beautiful, the urbane into the exquisite, for over 30 years.
With his partner, collaborator, friend and Squeeze co-founder Glenn Tilbrook, Chris has written some of the most enduring and best-loved songs of our time. Up The Junction, Cool For Cats and Labeled With Love, to name but a few, all have their well earned places on recurrent play, in radio stations across the world. And Squeeze now enjoy a new generation of fans, with celebrity admirers such as Lily Allen and Mark Ronson, Amy Winehouse and The Feeling.
Come along tonight and see Chris' solo show
Difford has released 3 critically acclaimed solo albums, toured relentlessly both inside and outside of Squeeze, and as one of the country’s most respected songwriters has co-written with a host of musicians and performers that reads as a veritable who’s who of the industry. One of his most recent co-writes appears on the best selling Ollie Murs album, proving Difford’s classic yet still contemporary touch. And he I increasingly in demand, with several more interesting collaborations in the works – the most anticipated of these of course being the new Squeeze album that he and Tilbrook are rumored to be writing.
