The Jon Amor Band

In the early nineties, from a tiny village in deepest darkest Wiltshire, UK, there came forth a band with fire in its belly and blues in its heart, and that band was called The Hoax. One of its four key members was Jon Amor, a long, lean guitar player who, along with his cohorts, toured the UK, Europe and the USA for eight years until the group disbanded in 1999, with four successful albums and a string of awards to its name. Since then, Jon has taken on the role of frontman with his band AMOR and established himself as a singer and songwriter in his own right, releasing two highly acclaimed and influential albums and giving the British blues rock scene a much-needed kick up the backside. Jon disbanded AMOR in 2005 and made the final leap into solo performance with a string of unique acoustic gigs. He also recorded a brand new album Unknown Soldier which is set for release on May 2nd and features guest performances from Led Zep legend Robert Plant and renowned tub-thumper Clive Deamer of Portishead and Roni Size fame.

The Sounds Of Simon
Simon & Garfunkel Tribute

The Sounds of Simon is a tribute to the wonderful music of Simon and Garfunkel.
Songs such as Mrs Robinson, The Only Living Boy In New York, The Sounds of Silence and Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard as well as countless others have established Paul Simon as one of the most successful songwriters of all time.
The Sounds of Simon is a full band show that takes in the full range of Simon and Garfunkel's career together as well as drawing extensively from Paul Simon's solo career. The band include songs such as Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover and Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes in the set, as well as older tunes like Homeward Bound and Cecilia. There are sometimes some surprise solo Garfunkel numbers too!
Paul and Art are played to perfection, bringing in elements of their famously fractious relationship, as well as replicating the beautiful harmonies flawlessly. This is a wonderful show filled with excellent music, nostalgia, and a genuine love for some great musicians.

Nomad '67, The Buck Brothers and Distorted Breed

Nomad 67, a young 3 piece band from rural Worcestershire! We consist of 2 original members, Vocalist/Guitarist Jay Lawson-Pearce and Drummer/Vocalist Will Diment. And new addition to the band for 2010, Bassist Matt Shepherd.
The Buck Brothers are really a "Marrs Bar family" band as they have been our friends for many many years. One of them is from London. The other two are from the island of Jersey. None of them are actually Brothers. They are named after a porn company that guitarist Dom used to work for. They hold the Guinness World Record for "most gigs played in 12 hours" which The Marrs Bar team helped them with. They are the first band in 30 years to play The House Of Lords. You should listen to them.
Bitter and twisted dirt rock mayhem from the perpetrator of PERFECT DISTORTION! Distorted Breed is the new band fronted by Jim Distortion - a red-hot phoenix raised from the ashes of FUTILE GESTURE and PERFECT DISTORTION by their inimitable main man, lead vocalist and writer. Shunning the industrial and techno noize that created Perfect Distortion’s sonic backdrop, the new incarnation is down and dirty, bassy and basic with the emphasis on balls-out rock ’n’ roll and Jim’s unmistakeably leonine, yet singularly melodic roar.

Rhondda

Rhondda are a band of experienced songwriters and performers. A collaboration of musical talents that invokes memories of classic artists that have influenced Rhondda but who have also influenced the soundtrack of our lives over the last four decades. Formed in 2007 the band, Phillip McPhillips Vocals & Guitar, Kev Tudge Vocals & Guitar and Andrew Biggs Bass Guitar, started the creative process that lead to the debut album "Bird Released"- released Jan 2009. Since which Rhondda have been augmented by the addition of Ian Rae on Lead Guitar and James E Williams on Drums. 2009 has seen the band performing on stages small and large to an ever growing fanbase and impressing established industry stars. Live highlights of 2009 including opening for 80's legends The Human League, T'Pau, Belinda Carlisle, Bananarama & Heaven 17 at a stadium festival in July.

By contrast, support comes from Worcester based band Trevino Slaxx who were described by Worcester Music Festival last year as "passionate and exciting" (or was it past it and excruciating?). Having been on a sabbatical while Sam passed his driving test, Steve had another baby, Si did some more cycle trials, and Keith finally got the hang of crochet using his drumstix, Ian wrote some more stuff so there might be a couple of newies to try out. For those who have supported the band there's still plenty of the other stuff - the one about the guy looking for his blind psychic ex-girlfriend in Brighton, the one with a bit of German in it, the one about the sniper, the one about the girl who shakes, and the one about the black girl with a helluva walk.

Host's Farewell Gig

This is Host's last gig before they go on a long term sabbatical, their singer is moving to the other end of the country and their guitarist is moving to the other side of the world, so future gigging will be nigh on impossible for now!!
They will be pulling out all the stops this night and will be playing every song they've ever done plus lots of jamming in between and giving away CD's, so come down for what promises to be a great night! Plus...it might be your last ever chance to see this original Worcester band doing their 'thang'.

Sorry & The Sinatras

Sorry And The Sinatras certainly know all about life in the fast lane – as their explosive dirt bomb debut album ‘Highball Roller’ shows so well!
‘Highball Roller’ is an honest, in-your-face punk rock n’ roll record that defines this quartet’s personalities – unpolished, missing teeth and self-medicated! It’s an album born out of years of searching for and finding dreams.
Featuring Scott Sorry (The Wildhearts, Amen), Lenny Thomas (Trashlight Vision), Dave Kerr (The Cherrykicks) & Rich Jones (The Loyalties, The Yo Yo's, Amen), SORRY & THE SINATRAS are inbound; expect one hell of a party!
JOEPATRONI are currently in the studio recording their fantastic debut album - trust me, it's gonna be awesome! They will be bringing the dirty guitars, Biblical drums and filthy riffs to the proceedings. They're building a huge reputation for their devastating live shows and killer hooks. When you get in your car to go home, JOEPATRONI is what you'll have relentlessly going around your head!
Featuring Neil Phillips (B*Movie Heroes, The Yo Yo's), Chris Murphy (Spunge) and Chris Wemyss (...and what will be left of them) - with that pedigree, how can you go wrong?!
Manchester based DIY rock band OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE are creating a big noise on the UK underground music scene. With their dark, grungey rock anthems, energetic live shows and punk attitude they have been building a steady army of hardcore fans for some time now.
Eschewing major label, polished pop bloatedness for their own hard working DIY ethic, they appeal to real music fans and people looking for something a little different and more edgy than the force-fed, homogenised, radio-friendly rock diet pushed onto teenagers by big money music corporations.
