The Jon Amor Band
In the early nineties, from a tiny village in deepest darkest Wiltshire, UK, there came forth a band with fire in its belly and blues in its heart, and that band was called The Hoax. One of its four key members was Jon Amor, a long, lean guitar player who, along with his cohorts, toured the UK, Europe and the USA for eight years until the group disbanded in 1999, with four successful albums and a string of awards to its name. Since then, Jon has taken on the role of frontman with his band AMOR and established himself as a singer and songwriter in his own right, releasing two highly acclaimed and influential albums and giving the British blues rock scene a much-needed kick up the backside. Jon disbanded AMOR in 2005 and made the final leap into solo performance with a string of unique acoustic gigs. He also recorded a brand new album Unknown Soldier which is set for release on May 2nd and features guest performances from Led Zep legend Robert Plant and renowned tub-thumper Clive Deamer of Portishead and Roni Size fame. www.myspace.com/jonamormusic Tickets £6.00 and £8.00 on the door |

The Festivals Experience
Remember, or for the uninitiated imagine, the twilight at the end of a long, hot summer day at Glastonbury; in the midst of 150,000 excited and happy people; the sunshine feeling in your stomach accompanied by several pints of warm beer and a peculiar tasting truffle you bought in the Green Field; the anticipation in the air and the smell of herbal cigarettes; and then your favourite band bangs into their first number. Feels good doesn't it …….. The guys in this band are veterans of the great summer festivals scene and can recreate those same sights, sounds (and occasionally odours) in a venue near you. Trip Switch, Christian Forthright, Quentin Spentlove and Vince Le Magma have been regularly working the beer tents at Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds and the like since 1997 and have constructed their set list around the best of the best that they have seen over the years. They cover all the great bands that have performed at the big summer festivals over almost 20 years or so. This ranges from James, Happy Mondays & Stone Roses, through the Brit Pop of Oasis, Blur, Pulp etc, and later on Travis and Coldplay; then bang up to date with Snow Patrol, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs and Killers etc. resulting in a set full of hits, albeit with a theme and a feel good factor. So why not come along to the gig and experience some of that FESTIVALS magic? Support comes from The Mood Elevators they've been gigging since June 2007 and have already gained a reputation as a band with attitude and presence. Martin and Charlie, from the successful 3-piece Razooms, and Mark and Graham from Zen Archeray, joined forces to create a punchy Rock and Roll outfit. The band has a very solid rhythm section driving two highly individual guitarists who complement each other in some songs and harmonise twin leads in others. Mostly covers in the repertoire, plus a few of their own powerful songs, they are influenced by Dr Feelgood, The Stones, and any music with balls. www.festivalsexperience.co.uk £4.00 ticket or £5.00 on the door |

Up In Arms
Up in Arms have been together for 18 months, old boys meet new is the best way to describe it. The band is made up of, Glen White who's been in the trade since jesus was nailed, so I'm told. he's worked with Stan Webb (Chicken Shack) and Pete Fenton (Jethro Tull) which spans a good 30 years, to say his vocals and guitar playing are sublime is understating. Rod Stone plays bass with a passion that only 25 years gives you, He likes to keep a low profile so enough said, although i will let out off the bag that Glen & Rod played in a film that stared (Rhys Ifans, Eddie Marson, Ben Whishal and warren clarke) On to the young part of the band, next up to Glen is Luke Tompkinson on lead and vocals, A name to look out for in the future (Gay boy to his mates) and last but not least is Chris Reynolds, only 15 but has been playing drums since he was a sperm (Look out for this boy he's going all the way). The music they play is covers by all the best bands from the 60, 70, and 80 in their own style. Good entertainment all the way round. £4.00 tickets and £5.00 on the door |

Vijay Kishore
It isn’t difficult to describe Vijay Kishore - in simple terms his voice is amazing. When he sings he takes you on a roller-coaster ride of emotions - you feel like you are either suffering his pain or enjoying his happiness. The singer songwriter from Handsworth has spent the past four years making a name for himself gigging around the country whilst gaining fans and a great reputation. Recent supports slots have included Keisha White, Nizlopi, Ray Davies and Sebastien Tellier. Although you can’t help but think that soon support slots will be a thing of the past – this man is a true headliner. www.myspace.com/vijaykishore £5.00 tickets and £6.00 on the door |
