The band contributed towards raising £3500.00 at their last charity gig in aid of Breast & Testicular cancer with Ronda, so that's why we've decided to do another charity gig in aid of Bowel Cancer at the Best music venue in the county!!!, having lost family thru' the disease with other family members recovering from it. They are a 4 piece consisting of Vocals, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keyboard, Synth & Rock Trumpet!!

Smoke Feathers

Smoke Feathers are a hotly-tipped alternative soul act that fuses blue-eyed, reggae-tinged soul with bombastic breaks and baselines. After a hot summer on festival stages around the UK, with six storming performances at Glastonbury and support slots for Bob Marley's guitarist Junior Marvin, Natty and Dodgy, the band are gearing up to releasing a debut album Liberation in March 2012.
Already championed by Radio 2's Janice Long, BBC 6 Music's Chris Hawkins and BBC London's Gary Crowley, the band also count Shaun Ryder, Dodgy's Nigel Clark and Miles Hunt (who recently produced two tracks for the band) among their admirers.
‘Liberation’, Smoke Feathers debut album, is an autobiography of Falloon’s extraordinary travels over the years. His experiences reverberate throughout the album, both lyrically and musically. ‘Liberation’ is, in essence, a collection of rich and vivid songs that have nothing to do with following fashion and everything to do with taking the listener on a similar musical journey that Matt Falloon travelled.

Marzy's Jamming Night
(Now we start at 8.30pm with acoustic acts)

Every Wednesday is Jamming Night at The Marrs Bar. We have a full range of instruments set up for you to play so if you are a guitarist, bass player, keyboard player, singer or drummer you can just turn up and play. You are welcome to bring your own instrument along too if you'd prefer. There is also a DI box set up for the unexpected double bass or an acoustic guitar or whatever.
The Marrs Bar is essentially an over 18's venue but as we understand there are many very talented youngsters out there who would also enjoy and benefit from the experience of performing in front of a live crowd we have a junior membership scheme in place, junior membership costs £5 and you will need to bring a passport size photo and get a parent or guardian to fill in this form. Simply bring it along on the night (you will be allowed in on that night) and next time you come your membership card will be ready for collection from the doorman.

Electro-dub pioneers Dreadzone formed in 1993 when ex-Big Audio Dynamite drummer Greg Roberts teamed up with Tim Bran, with the duo soon joined by bassist Leo Williams and keyboardist Dan Donovan, also formerly of Big Audio Dynamite, completing the group’s first line-up. A festival favourite, Dreadzone opened the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury in 1994 and began to bring their unique blend of electro, dub and reggae to a wider audience, going on to chart seven Top 60 singles (including their Top 20 hit ‘Little Britain’) and are still going strong after 17 years.
Dreadzone’s groundbreaking 1995 album ‘Second Light’ is to be released on 5 March 2012 by EMI as a two disc special edition featuring previously unreleased live concert material from Glastonbury 1995. Second Light (named by John Peel as one of his favourite albums of all time) has now been remastered at the world-famous AIR Studios and is available to pre-order on deluxe 2CD and download. The Second Light Special Edition comes complete with an entire disc of bonus material including the John Peel session track ‘Maximum’ and a 45 minute live set from Glastonbury in 1995.

Big Blues Tribe's Farewell Performance
(it's a sad day....)

The Big Blues Tribe returns to The Marrs Bar for its final ever performance.
After 5 years playing big band blues at festivals, theatres, blues clubs and venues across the country, this fabulous nine piece bows out at The Marrs Bar.
Playing big band blues in the style of BB King, Ray Charles and, more recently Jools Holland’s R&B Orchestra, The Tribe is a big nine piece band with a full five piece brass section, from trumpet to baritone sax, and four excellent voices, all fronted by Oliver Carpenter, one of the Midlands most experienced blues singers.
Combining musical quality on every stand with an infectious sense of fun and a 100% commitment to blues music, The Tribe has entertained wherever its played and brought a smile to the UK Blues circuit.
