Sian Evans and Simon Kingman
Sian found international success fronting the famous dance/pop band 'Kosheen' from Bristol. Kosheen have recently released their 3rd highly successfull album 'Damage'-www.kosheen.com. but Sian has a new band which she would like to share with us tonight! Even though they had only played a handfull of gigs including a filmed performance in Los Angeles in December 2006, in Dec 2007 the band were invited to play at a festival in Moscow, the gig was a great success and they had a great time. It was in Moscow they decided to use the name 'Melo Park' for future gigs as a band. They continue writing sessions and are currently putting the finishing touches to their first Album of songs set to be released sometime in the near future. The songs were recorded at the studio of welsh keyboard wizard Richard Dunne who features heavily on them along with Aaron Ahmun (drums-John Martyn, Linda Lewis) and Pete Hurley (bass-Van Morrison). They appear tonight as a duo, www.myspace.com/sianevanssimonkingman £5.00 on the door |

Panic Room
Described by Classic Rock Magazine as a "super group", Panic Room features current and ex-members of Karnataka, Mostly Autumn and Fish's band. The magazine's 8/10 review of the debut album, "Visionary Position", went on to describe the band's music as "sensual and tribalistic… mixing hypnotic ethnicity with pulse pounding passion". While the music has progressive elements it will also appeal to a much broader audience with it's melodic and powerful song writing ranging from acoustic folk tinged ballads to symphonic rock. Jerry Ewing of Total Rock Radio described the Panic Room sound as "a splendid melting pot of styles and genres, throwing out rock, jazz, blues and more ethereal moments at almost every turn… Led Zeppelin meets Kate Bush". Inventively melodic guitar solos, interweaving keyboard lines and a subtly powerful rhythm section are topped off with the stunning voice of Anne-Marie Helder, a very individual and emotional singer whose soaring melodies and inventive lyrics draw the listener into new worlds. The band's scorching live version of Zeppelin's "No Quarter" saw her described as the "bastard love child of Robert Plant and Joni Mitchell!" You can find out more, hear music clips and see live footage of the band at…. www.panicroom.org.uk www.myspace.com/panicroomuk £8.00 ticket and £10.00 on the door |
